The time it took to transfer 200 EOS-1D JPEG photos from CompactFlash card to computer was tested using the cards and readers listed. The times have been converted to Kilobytes per second; the fastest throughput for each card/reader combination is in bold.

1) This computer's FireWire port does not provide power, so the reader was connected through a powered Orange Micro OrangeLink FireWire Hub.
2) The reader was connected to an Adaptec DuoConnect FireWire/USB 2.0 PCI card installed in the computer.

3) This card in this reader, connected to any of 4 Macs, would show only 10 photographs in the card's folder, not 200. Reformatting the card using several different methods would not eliminate the problem.
