If all that's new in the EOS-1D Mark II works as advertised, including the retooled E-TTL II flash system and turbocharged 45-point Area AF, then Canon's new pro digital SLR is sure to be a hit.
The 1D MKII will make its first semi-public appearance in Houston this weekend, where it will be shown to sports photographers covering Super Bowl XXXVIII. The camera will also be the main attraction of the pro area in Canon's sprawling booth at the PMA 2004 trade show. That event runs from February 12-15, 2004 in Las Vegas.
The EOS-1D Mark II is slated to ship in April 2004 at an estimated selling price of US$4499 in the US.
