Photo Mechanic 2.0r13 for Mac fixes bugs; version 2 for Windows imminent
Monday, January 29, 2001 | by
Photo Mechanic Lite 2.0r13 for Mac and Photo Mechanic Pro 2.0r13 for Mac fix several bugs, as well as pave the way for the long-awaited Windows version of the popular newspaper image browser.

Version 2.0r13's read me file lists these changes:

  • Fixed bug with rotating Photoshop 4 or earlier JPEG files

  • Fixed problem with renaming individual files (option-command M)

  • Fixed problem with reading crop on JPEGs processed with Windows version of Photo Mechanic

  • Fixed problem with captioning Kodak DCS files that had already been captioned ("miscellaneous file error 819") (Pro version only)

  • Kodak DCS support built with latest 1.7 Kodak SDK (Pro version only)

  • Fixed DCS Photo dialog repositioning bug when switching between camera models (Pro version only)

Both the US$150 Lite and US$295 Pro versions of 2.0r13 are free updates from previous releases of v2.0. Both versions also function as two week trial demos before registration is required. Dennis Walker of Camera Bits Software indicates that the Windows version of Photo Mechanic Pro 2.0 is poised for release, with the Lite version to follow.
