Canon updates firmware for EOS 5D, EOS-1D Mark II N

Canon today has released new firmware for the EOS 5D and EOS-1D Mark II N.

The download page for firmware version 1.0.3 for the EOS 5D notes the following changes:

  1. Fixes the phenomenon of large image files (1.7GB) being created.

    Fixes the phenomenon of large image files (1.7GB) being created when vertical images are taken with the Auto Image Rotation setting set to ON.

  2. Improves the brightness of the LCD monitor.

    Improves the brightness of the LCD monitor, making it easier to check images outdoors.

  3. Fixes an operational abnormality in the AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) shooting.

    When shooting with the self-timer and AEB set to an exposure time of more than one second, the camera’s operation became abnormal after the first shot, but this has been fixed.

  4. Fixes the mistakes in the Swedish-language MENU displays.

    There were mistakes in some of the Swedish-language displays; these have been fixed.

The download page for firmware version 1.0.2 for the EOS-1D Mark II N notes the following changes:

  1. Fixes a file-numbering error that occurred during Bulb shooting.

    Fixes the phenomenon of sequential file numbers not being maintained when shooting with sequential numbers in Bulb mode and then changing the CF card with the camera ON.

  2. Improves the brightness of the LCD monitor.

    Improves the brightness of the LCD monitor, making it easier to check images outdoors.

  3. Fixes mistakes in the Russian-language MENU displays.

    There were mistakes in some of the Russian-language displays; these have been fixed.
