DataRescue releases PhotoRescue 3.0
Monday, March 19, 2007 | by Rob Galbraith
DataRescue has released PhotoRescue 3.0 for Windows and Mac, an update that puts a user-friendly interface on the stellar photo recovery application. The Mac version is also now a Universal Binary for native performance on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs. If you've liked PhotoRescue's powerful recovery abilities, but struggled with how to use it, this new version is for you.

PhotoRescue 3.0 is a free upgrade for licensed users of PhotoRescue Expert v2.x that purchased the software after March 15, 2006. DataRescue has already begun the process of emailing PhotoRescue 3.0 license codes to those eligible for the free upgrade. Pierre Vandevenne of DataRescue stresses that it will take several days for all the upgrade notices to go out.

If you purchased the program prior to March 15, 2006, the upgrade fee is US$19. New licenses are US$29. Until June 30, 2007, all new and upgrade purchasers will receive a license for both the Windows and Mac version of the application. A trial version is available, and a brief user guide is also online.
