Photographer and Sundance Film Festival winning DSLR filmmaker Danfung Dennis has posted a 1.5-minute video, using footage of the Libyan rebellion shot by Patrick Chauvel, that previews a new immersive video technology dubbed Condition ONE
The web site DSLR News Shooter quotes
Dennis as saying that the Condition One prototype is based on a video-capable Canon DSLR which captures the entire human field of view as a distorted circular image. The resulting footage can be projected without distortion on the interior surface of a dome, or viewed interactively on a tablet device. That interactivity is shown in the demo video below.

Dennis, who began his career as a still photographer, has said that he believes the language of still photojournalism is dying. He recently won the Sundance Film Festival World Cinema Documentary prize for
Hell and Back Again
, his film about the Afghanistan war, much of which was shot with a handheld Canon EOS 5D.
