Friday, July 15, 2005 | by Eamon Hickey

Konica Minolta has announced the Dynax 5D (Maxxum 5D in North America) entry-level 6-megapixel digital SLR camera.

The camera features Konica Minolta's body-integral image stabilization system, which the company calls Anti-Shake. Press releases on both the Konica Minolta global website and Konica Minolta USA's web site do not contain pricing or availability information.

Also announced were three new Maxxum DT (Digital Technology) lenses designed for dSLR cameras with APS-C sized sensors:

  • AF DT ZOOM 18-70mm F3.5-5.6(D)
  • AF DT ZOOM 11-18mm F4.5-5.6 (D)
  • AF DT ZOOM 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 (D)

(A press release on the lenses is available in a pop-up window accessed from this page. It says the lenses will begin shipping in the fall, but no prices are given.)
