Snapseed image editor free today
Sunday, January 1, 2012 | by Rob Galbraith
Snapseed 1.3.1, Nik Software's smart, simple image editing app for the Apple iPad and other iOS devices, is available for free for a limited time. Snapseed is by far the most fluid and pleasant-to-use app we've tried for making adjustments to photos on an iPad. While there's plenty it doesn't yet do, it excels at making basic tone and colour corrections, including selective corrections to targeted areas such as faces.

We're not certain when Snapseed will return to its regular price of US$4.99 (or about that amount in other currencies), but it may be as soon as some time on January 2, 2012. Update, January 2, 2012: Snapseed has returned to its regular price of US$4.99.

More information on Snapseed is here.
