Nikon Capture 4.3.1 released
Monday, August 22, 2005 | by Rob Galbraith

Rolling out across Nikon's global network of support servers is a Capture 4.3.1 updater for Windows and Mac.

The updater, which requires Capture 4.2 or later, increases the speed at which pictures open and save in Capture Editor across both platforms.

And, in the Mac version only, a change in OS X 10.4's ColorSync Utility that prevented the selection of an RGB colour space or CMYK separation profile for use in Nikon Capture has been addressed through a revamp of the colour management settings in v.4.3.1 of Nikon's RAW image processing and camera control applications. Now, pull-down menus in the Color Management tab of Preferences in Capture 4.3.1 for Mac enable direct selection of RGB and CMYK profiles.

The download pages for each platform contain additional information on what's new in Capture 4.3.1. In addition, a press release on the Nikon Imaging web site contains a small set of benchmarks comparing the display and processing speed of v4.3.0 to v4.3.1.

Updaters for North American versions of Capture are on the Nikon USA support site:

  • Updaters for versions of Capture sold outside North America are on the Nikon Asia web site (these updaters will refuse to run if they detect a North American version of Capture):
