Epson Online Experience a solid US$30 value
Monday, February 16, 2004 | by Rob Galbraith

The US$30 Epson Print Academy Online Experience combines tutorials on Photoshop CS, printing and more with video interviews and how-to sessions featuring photographers Jay Maisel, Bruce Dale, Jack Reznicki, John Shaw and others. Each Sunday night, the Online Experience is updated with new content for the week ahead, for a total of 60 lessons over a 12 week period.

Though geared towards the advanced amateur photographer, the lessons and especially the video sessions with the top-flight photographers we've watched so far appear to make the US$30 subscription cost a solid value, while the production values are superb and the streaming video quality reasonable if a bit oversmoothed.

The Online Experience is fully compatible only with Windows-based systems currently. Epson expects Macs will be able to properly display both the video and notes that appear alongside the video starting on March 26, 2004. Week 1 kicked off on February 9, 2004; subscribing to the Online Experience this week means that all the content of Week 1 and Week 2 is available for viewing, along with text notes and other tutorials in the site's Video Library.
