Camera Raw 5.2 for Photoshop CS4 posted
Monday, November 24, 2008 | by Rob Galbraith
Adobe this evening has posted Camera Raw 5.2, the latest revision of its RAW conversion plug-in for Photoshop CS4 on Mac and Windows. Support for the RAW files from seven additional cameras, including the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, has been incorporated into this update, plus Adobe has added new features: the ability to store all adjustments made to a photo, for later loading into subsequent photos, output sharpening and a Targeted Adjustment Tool, says an Adobe announcement. Updated colour profiles are also part of the Camera Raw 5.2 release.

The full list of newly-supported cameras:
  • Canon EOS 5D Mark II
  • Canon PowerShot G10
  • Panasonic DMC-G1
  • Panasonic DMC-FX150
  • Panasonic DMC-FZ28
  • Panasonic DMC LX3
  • Leica D-LUX 4
Camera Raw 5.2 is available via the update function built into Photoshop CS4 (choose Updates from the Help menu to start the process), or follow a link below to download and install the plug-in manually:
(As of this writing, the Adobe pages linked to above indicate that the download is a bundle of Camera Raw 5.2 and DNG Converter 5.2, but DNG Converter isn't actually included. DNG Converter 5.2 is, however, available elsewhere on Adobe's site.)

More information is in the Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw 5.2 Read Me. A December 2008 release of Photoshop Lightroom 2.2 will roll in support for the same seven camera RAW formats.
