Nikon turns 90
Thursday, July 26, 2007 | by Rob Galbraith
On July 25, 1917, three Japanese optical makers merged to form Nippon Kogaku K.K., the company today known as Nikon. Happy 90th birthday Nikon!

Nikon's corporate website in Japan contains chronologies of significant company and product milestones, including the adoption of the Nikkor name for camera lenses in 1932 and the Nikon name for 35mm cameras in 1946.
