Kodak shows off enhanced noise filtering
Friday, February 4, 2000 | by
Slated for release in v5.9 of Kodak's acquire software, Kodak yesterday unveiled enhanced blue channel noise filtering for Kodak/Canon pro digicams, including the DCS 520 and 620.

Based on the sample photo on display, and other, more detailed samples I've viewed recently, the filtering appears to be extremely effective and a significant improvement over the noise removal function in v5.8.2. Version 5.9 of Kodak's acquire software is scheduled for posting on Kodak's website mid-March. As mentioned previously on this page, the 5.9 update will also bring FireWire PC Card support to Windows 98 (but not Windows 98 Second Edition).
