Nikon releases new firmware for the D2X, D2Hs and D200
Tuesday, October 3, 2006 | by Rob Galbraith

The promised fall firmware updates for the Nikon D2X, D2Hs and D200 are beginning to appear on Nikon servers. Changes in the D2X and D2Hs firmware bridge some of the functionality gap between these cameras and the D2Xs, while the new firmware for the D200 introduces support for image authentication as well as Wireless Transmitter WT-3/WT-3A.

Firmware v2.00 (A and B) for the Nikon D200

Released several days ago, the Nikon USA support site notes the following changes in the update:

  1. Image authentication item has been added to the setup menu. The optional Image Authentication software is required to authenticate images.
  2. A Wireless transmitter item has been added to the setup menu. This item is available only when the optional Wireless Transmitter WT-3 is connected to the camera.

The update is available in separate downloads for Windows and Mac.
