Late last week, Canon Canada rolled out lower pricing on several digital SLR models, many L-series lenses, teleconverters and the 550EX Speedlite.
Dropping in price by several hundred dollars are the EOS 10D, EOS-1D and EOS-1Ds; the 10D, for example, now sells for a street price of about CDN$2160 at reputable pro dealers (contact your favourite photo retailer for exact pricing). Both the EOS-1D and EOS-1Ds are part of Canon Canada's CPS purchase program; contact your dealer for up-to-date pricing on these models. With or without CPS membership, both cameras are reduced in price significantly.
Pro lenses including the EF 16-35 f/2.8L, EF 24-70 f/2.8L, EF 35-350 f/3.5-5.6L, EF 70-200 f/2.8L, EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS, EF 70-200 f/4.0L and EF 100-400 f/3.5-5.6L are also less expensive, as are the EF 1.4 II and EF 2.0 II teleconverters. Also cheaper is Canon's 550EX Speedlite flash.
Similar price drops have not been announced by Canon USA.
