Adobe releases Photoshop CS2 update
Wednesday, August 16, 2006 | by Rob Galbraith

Adobe has updated Photoshop CS2 for Windows and Mac to v9.0.2. Because the updaters aren't yet available from the download pages of Adobe's web site, only through the update mechanism of the application itself, full details of what's new aren't yet known. Posts in Adobe's User to User Forums by Adobe employee "dhowe", however, reveal some of the changes:

Photoshop CS2 9.0.2 for Mac

Here is the relevant info on the Mac 9.0.2 update from the Read Me. The update will be posted to the Updates page in the near future. Thanks for your patience.

- Photoshop no longer crashes when encountering unsupported file types through the Acrobat Touch-up workflow.
- Supported files that incorrectly produced an "unsupported color space" message now open as expected.
- TIFF files with layer data greater than 2GB in size now open correctly.
- A printing issue that could cause banding when using ink jet printers with Mac OS X 10.4 has been resolved.

Photoshop CS2 9.0.2 for Windows

The Updates page will be refreshed with 9.0.2 in the near future, along with a full Read Me. Below are the most relevant notes from the Windows Read Me. And yes, the clicky menus thing is solved.   Thanks for everyone's patience.

- Menus now respond correctly after a single click.
- Undo/Redo work properly when multiple documents are open.
- Photoshop no longer produces a program error when encountering unsupported file types through the Acrobat Touch-up workflow.
- Supported files that incorrectly produced an "unsupported color space" message now open as expected.
- TIFF files with layer data greater than 2GB in size now open correctly.

Update, August 17, 2006: Adobe has removed the updaters from its servers, says an article on the MacFixit web site.
