In an interview last week with Reuters, Canon CEO Fujio Mitarai said he expects the company's supply chain, which was disrupted by the recent earthquake and tsunami, to recover by the end of June, earlier than Canon previously thought. This will boost annual sales by about US$600 million, Mitarai expects.
In the interview, Mitarai also says that he expects demand for DSLR cameras to remain strong owing to the continued expansion of the middle class in developing countries around the world.
