Lowepro has unveiled the CompuTrekker Plus AW, a backpack designed to carry both a large laptop and digital photo gear.
Similar in design to the smaller CompuTrekker AW, which has been our favourite travel backpack in the last year when we haven't needed to carry a lot of gear, the 12 (W) x 5.9 (D) x 19 (H) inch CompuTrekker Plus AW's more ample proportions enable it to house a 17 inch-size laptop and a 300mm f/2.8 lens, in addition to digital SLR bodies, lenses and other accessories.
The CompuTrekker Plus AW includes zippered cable pouches, a built-in memory card holder, a water-resistant zipper on its side-loading padded laptop compartment and a raincover.
It's to ship in March 2005 at a suggested list price in the U.S. of US$224.99. The Lowepro web site has not been updated with information on the new backpack.
Imaging Resource has posted a video from the PMA 2005 trade show that includes a good overview of the CompuTrekker Plus AW (about 1/3 of the way into the movie).
