Photographer represents himself, wins nearly US$20,000 in copyright infringement case
Monday, February 25, 2008 | by Rob Galbraith
Minneapolis-based stock photographer Chris Gregerson discovered in 2005 that a local real estate and financial services company had published one of his pictures without permission. This set in motion a legal odyssey that lasted nearly three years and culminated in Gregerson being awarded US$19,462 for the infringement earlier this month. Gregerson has written up a detailed account of his experience representing himself and it's a fascinating read.
