New batch processing feature added to Noise Ninja standalone
Monday, April 27, 2009 | by Rob Galbraith
PictureCode has released a new version of the Noise Ninja standalone application for Mac and Windows. Noise Ninja v2.2.0 adds a batch processing feature called Sidekick Mode which enables other applications, such as Photoshop Lightroom or Photo Mechanic, to send photos to it for fully automated noise removal processing.

Sidekick Mode can also be invoked by dragging and dropping photos into the application's main window or by selecting them in its file open dialog. Noise Ninja will process JPEG and TIFF files, and can either overwrite the original or create a new version.

Also in this release is a fix for a profile folder preference bug in the Mac version.

Noise Ninja v2.2.0 for Mac and Windows is a free update for licensed users of an earlier 2.x version. It's also available for Linux. More information on how to use to Sidekick Mode with Photoshop Lightroom is here.

Earlier this year, PictureCode released a 64-bit version of the Noise Ninja plug-in for Photoshop CS4 on Windows.
