Capture One for DSLR to be released November 28 at US$499
Friday, November 1, 2002 | by
At PhotoPlus Expo yesterday, Phase One demonstrated the upcoming Capture One for DSLR browsing and processing photos from a FireWire-tethered EOS-1D (both the EOS-1D and EOS-1Ds are to be supported initially). The US$499 software will be available in a 30 day trial version from the company's web site starting on November 28, the same day it's slated to ship, says Phase One president Henrik Hakonsson. Phase One plans to sell Capture One for DSLR directly from its web site, as well as through a small network of pro photo dealers. Only the Windows version will ship later this month; the Mac version is not expected until March 1, 2003. Support for Nikon's D1X, D1H and D100 is expected next year: the company has tentatively set a release time frame of Q1 2003 for the Nikon-compatible Windows version, and Q2 2003 for the Mac.
