Canon releases Digital Photo Professional 3.0.1
Friday, May 11, 2007 | by Rob Galbraith
Canon this month has released Digital Photo Professional 3.0.1 for Windows and Mac. The only change to the program on both platforms is a bug fix:

Fixed problem
1-2. When significantly adjusting the tone curve for RAW images taken with specific models* and executing [Convert and Save] or [Batch Save], gradation was partially lost; but this problem has been fixed.
* EOS 5D, EOS-1D Mark II N, EOS 30D, EOS Kiss Digital X/EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi/EOS DIGITAL 400D, EOS-1D Mark III

Plus, certain features are disabled when the program is run in Windows Vista, presumably because compatibility problems have been found but not yet addressed:

Restricted functions for Windows Vista only
1-1. Trimming Tool, Quick Check Tool, prints with detailed settings or Contact Sheet Prints cannot be used.

The Digital Photo Professional 3.0.1 updater can be downloaded from any of the compatible EOS digital SLR pages on the Canon USA website, including via the EOS 30D product page. Once there, click on Drivers & Downloads, then Drivers / Software, to access the software.

Canon has also updated the Windows version of EOS Utility to v2.0a, though the only listed change is to the installer and not the application itself.

Thanks to Ian Musk for bringing this to our attention.
