Real World Photoshop 6 due early next year
Sunday, November 26, 2000 | by
Bruce Fraser, co-author of the books Real World Photoshop 3, Real World Photoshop 4 and Real World Photoshop 5, indicates that he and David Blatner are hard at work on Real World Photoshop 6, the latest in their Real World series on configuring and using Photoshop to prepare photos for printing.

New in the upcoming edition is a chapter on Photoshop 6's revamped colour management support, as well as information on making prints from an Epson Stylus 1270, says Fraser:

As with previous versions, the focus will be on production techniques (we don't try to tell people how to do art, just how to realise it.) It has an all-new, approximately 95-page chapter on Photoshop's new color architecture and how to use it effectively, and considerably expanded coverage on layer-based editing and high-bit workflows. The other major new component is in-depth coverage of making fine prints on composite printers, be they a LightJet 5000 or an Epson 1270.

The 750+ page Peachpit Press book, says Fraser, is due to hit the shelves in February 2001 (Amazon.com lists a ship date of February 9). It is expected to sell for about US$50.
