onOne Software's DSLR Camera Remote Professional Edition, its excellent remote camera control, triggering and viewing app for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch, has lowered in price from US$19.99 to US$4.99 (or the rough equivalent in other currencies).

The price drop is temporary; the lower price is expected to run through until about the end of the month, says onOne's Mike Wong. onOne is also working on a new release of the app that will add support for the Canon EOS Rebel T3i/600D and Nikon D5100.

The cost of enabling DSLR Camera Remote Professional Edition 1.4's video features remains the same, at US$9.99. This is accomplished through an in-app purchase. The next release of the app, however, will include the video features at no extra charge, says Wong. If you want to avail yourself of the best deal possible, and you can live without the app's video capabilities for a bit, purchase DSLR Camera Remote Professional Edition now at US$4.99, don't add video through an in-app purchase, and instead get the video features for free sometime later in July when the next release of the app emerges.

Only the version of the app targeted at the iPhone and iPod touch has been put on sale. DSLR Camera Remote HD for the iPad is not being offered at a discount from its US$49.99 regular price.
