Epson to release 2 new 8-colour pigmented ink printers in Japan

Epson Japan has announced 2 new 8-colour pigmented ink desktop printers to be released in the fall in Japan (with their release likely to follow at a later date in other world regions).

Called the PX-G5000 and PX-G920 (web page is in Japanese), both printers feature 5,760 x 1,440 dpi resolution, 80-year print life and a dot size as small as 1.5 picolitres.

The PX-G5000 prints up to A3+ paper size and is slated to ship on November 12, 2004 in Japan; the PX-G920 prints up to A4 paper size and is to ship on October 7, 2004, also in Japan.
