March is the month for Northern, Southern Short Courses

Two long-running educational events for photojournalists kick off next month in the U.S.:

The Northern Short Course runs from March 10-12, 2005 in Reston, Virginia. Workshop leaders include Karl Kuntz on Photoshop, Jack Bingham on colour management and Ken Spencer on studio lighting. Featured lecturers include Ron Haviv of VII and Dean Hoffmeyer of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The Southern Short Course in News Photography runs from March 31-April 3, 2005 in Macon, Georgia. Faculty this year includes Gary Fong of the San Francisco Chronicle speaking on wireless photo transmission, Jack Rowland of the St. Petersburg Times on "From Photoshop to Fetch" and Michael Weimar of The Gainesville (FL) Sun on both sports photography and location lighting.
