BreezeBrowser Pro v1.0 debuts
Thursday, December 9, 2004 | by Eamon Hickey

Breeze Systems has released BreezeBrowser Pro v1.0, an upgraded version of the standard BreezeBrowser, the company's image browsing and RAW conversion application.

According to Chris Breeze, the author of BreezeBrowser, BreezeBrowser Pro does everything that the standard version does plus:

  • New image comparison window to compare up to four images on screen at the same time. Images can be zoomed and panned together and tagged for future reference
  • Faster image display in main view, filmstrip view and slideshow. Images are cached to make it much faster to step backwards and forwards through your shots and the next image is preloaded ready for display
  • Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II raw conversion
  • New improved combined raw conversion for Canon EOS cameras including the EOS-1D series
  • Contact sheets can be printed to file and saved as JPEG, TIFF or PNG images so that they can be printed by your photo lab
  • Faster image processing using a new graphics library
  • Updated, searchable help files
  • Dialogs updated to use Windows XP controls and toolbar icons redesigned
  • email support for BreezeBrowser Pro customers

A feature-limited free trial version of BreezeBrowser Pro is available for download, and a full license costs US$59.95.

Owners of the standard version of BreezeBrowser can upgrade to the Pro edition for US$25.

Chris Breeze indicates that he intends to continue developing and supporting the standard version of BreezeBrowser, which will be updated to v2.11 as early as next week.
