Nikon Europe announces end of D3 buffer upgrade program (updated)
Monday, June 20, 2011 | by Eamon Hickey
Nikon Europe has announced that the D3 Buffer Memory Expansion service will no longer be available in Europe after July 20, 2011. This program, available for a fee since 2008, more than doubles the image buffer capacity of a D3 camera.

The Buffer Expansion service is apparently still available from Nikon USA and there is as yet no word on the program being discontinued for the U.S. market.

Update, June 21, 2011: Nikon USA has now announced that it too will wrap up this service on July 20, 2011.
