NEC SpectraView 1980 19" LCD monitor reviewed
Wednesday, December 22, 2004 | by Eamon Hickey

Trusted Reviews has published a review of the NEC SpectraView 1980 19-inch LCD display.

This monitor is one of a new series of NEC LCD displays that are designed for color critical applications. The series bears the SpectraView brand name and also includes a 21-inch model, called the SpectraView 2180.

According to Trusted Reviews, NEC has also announced another future 21-inch SpectraView model that will have an LED backlight and which the company claims will have the widest color gamut in the history of flat panel displays.

The only reference to these displays that we could find on an official NEC website is this press release issued by NEC-Mitsubishi Europe. As a result, we're not clear whether the displays will be marketed in the U.S. and Canada or, if so, when they might become available.

This U.K. retailer is listing them for sale now.
