Tuesday, November 4, 2008 | by Rob Galbraith
The Canon EOS 5D Mark II is on track for release to retailers by the end of November 2008 in the U.S., says Chuck Westfall, Technical Advisor at Canon USA. Extra batteries and other accessories for the 21.03 million image pixel digital SLR, including Battery Grip BG-E6, Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E4/E4A, Battery Pack LP-E6 and EG-series focusing screens, are expected to ship from Canon USA to stores at about the same time as the camera emerges.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark II was announced on September 16, 2008 and has an expected street price of US$2699 in the U.S. A kit comprised of the camera and EF 24-105mm f/4L IS lens is to ship at roughly the same time as body-only configurations, for US$3499.
