Delkin announces 100-year eFilm Archival Gold DVD-R
Monday, July 25, 2005 | by Rob Galbraith

Delkin has announced that their Archival Gold line of long-lasting optical storage media now includes DVD-R.

Dubbed the eFilm Archival Gold DVD-R, Delkin claims a 100-year life for the disc, which uses 24 karat gold in its reflective layer. Delkin eFilm Archival Gold DVD-R is now shipping and is available in packs of 10, 16, 25 and 100. A press release has additional information.

The company also sells eFilm Archival Gold CD-R and eFilm Inkjet Archival Gold CD-R, both with a claimed 300-year life, as well as solvent-free eFilm CD/DVD Markers. We've been using eFilm Archival Gold CD-R discs for 6 months now with good success (though it will be another 299.5 years before we can validate Delkin's longevity promise!).
