Lexar announces new JumpDrives: Photo, and Pro 80X

Lexar Media has announced two new JumpDrive portable USB flash drives, the JumpDrive Photo and the JumpDrive 2.0 Pro 80X.

The JumpDrive Photo is a USB 2.0 flash drive with 40X write speed (6MB/sec.) that ships with a copy of Image Rescue 2.0, Lexar's image recovery utility. No software drivers are required to use the drive with Windows 2000/ME/XP or Mac OS 8.6+ and OS X. Image Rescue 2.0 is compatible with Windows 2000/XP or Mac OS X. The JumpDrive Photo will ship in April in 256MB and 512MB capacities. Estimated retail pricing in the U.S. will be US$89.99 (256MB) and US $179.99 (512MB). Lexar also says it will ship 1GB and 2GB versions of the JumpDrive Photo later this spring.

The JumpDrive 2.0 Pro 80X is a USB 2.0 flash drive with a minimum sustained read/write speed of 12MB/sec. It also requires no software drivers to work with Windows 2000/ME/XP or Mac OS 8.6+ and OS X. It will ship in April in capacities of 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB. Estimated retail prices in the U.S. will be US$89.99, US$189.99, and US$349.99.

Lexar's web site has not yet been updated with information on these products.
