Hoodcap Hood brings glare-free LCD monitor viewing to Nikon's D1
Sunday, May 13, 2001 | by
Hoodman, which last year developed the popular Hoodcap clear LCD monitor cover for the Nikon D1, is 2-3 weeks from shipping their latest D1 accessory, the US$40 Hoodcap Hood HD1. The collapsible rubber hood attaches to the US$20 Hoodcap to minimize glare when viewing the camera's LCD monitor, even in bright sunlight.

Says Hoodman's Bob Schmidt:

The soft, rubber hood will easily collapse down when the user looks through the viewfinder. It will flex back into the extended position when the user moves away from the camera providing glare viewing of the LCD screen. The HD1 will stay on the camera similar to the Hoodcap and it will come with a lanyard that will keep the hood with the camera.

Hoodman is now accepting pre-orders for the Hoodcap Hood HD1. For more information on the Hoodcap, see Nikon D1 Hoodcap keeps LCD scratch-free.
