Adobe selling Lightroom, Photoshop at discount until November 30
Friday, November 26, 2010 | by Rob Galbraith
Adobe is offering discounts to residents of the U.S., Canada and Mexico when purchasing Photoshop Lightroom 3 or Photoshop CS5 direct from Adobe between now and November 30, 2010. The price of a new license for Lightroom 3 is US$199, down from US$299, for a savings of US$100. Full and upgrade licenses of Photoshop CS5 are reduced by US$100 and US$50, respectively, while Photoshop CS5 Extended is US$200 cheaper for a new license and US$100 cheaper to upgrade.

If the discounts aren't automatically applied during the checkout process then enter SAVE2010 in the Promotion Code field to get the discounted price. Other special deals in Adobe's North America online store are here.

Note that the Adobe online store has offered since June a bundle deal on Lightroom + Photoshop or a Creative Suite 5 edition that trims 30% off the price of Lightroom. This deal continues until the end of the year and is available in most or all Adobe stores worldwide as well as at certain resellers. Details are here. For photographers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, however, it's less expensive to purchase a new license of Lightroom 3 and a new or upgrade license of Photoshop CS5 separately, at least between now and the end of November.
