Stylus Pro 3800 to join Epson printer lineup
Monday, September 25, 2006 | by Rob Galbraith
Digital Outback Photo has published specifications for a new photo printer from Epson. Called the Stylus Pro 3800, it features a 17 inch print carriage, eight-colour print head, Ultrachrome K3 inks and many other similarities to the Stylus Pro 4800. But it's physically smaller than the 4800, takes nine 80ml ink cartidges, can automatically switch between photo black and matte black inks with promised minimal ink wastage, lacks a roll feeder option and at US$1295 in the U.S. is less expensive (we're not sure if this is the manufacturer's suggested list price or the expected street price).
