Kingston announces Elite Pro CompactFlash line
Thursday, April 22, 2004 | by Rob Galbraith

With the announcement of its Elite Pro series of CompactFlash cards, Kingston Technology is putting a name to its line of performance flash media that has been available by special order for some time.

The blue-labeled cards, whose product designation ends in "-S" to distinguish it from the company's standard, orange-labeled CF line, utilize Toshiba single level cell (SLC) technology. This form of flash memory is quicker in write operations than Toshiba multi level cell (MLC), as well as more expensive to manufacture.

While the Elite Pro announcement focuses on the 1GB capacity, other capacities are planned. Elite Pro cards are expected to be regularly-stocked items at participating Kingston dealers.

All Kingston CompactFlash cards feature a 5-year warranty and free tech support.
