Location lighting specialist Joe McNally is leading five full-day workshops on lighting in October.
Each workshop will cover the use of one or many strobes, understanding colour-balancing gels and the blending of flash and ambient light together effectively. The day will begin at his Dobbs Ferry, NY studio outside New York City, with a location shoot planned for the afternoon.
Workshop dates are October 17, 18, 19, 24 and 25, 2005 from 9:15 AM to 6:00 PM. The fee is US$275, and each day is limited to 12 participants. For more information or to register, call +1 914-478-7728 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Additional details about the workshop are in a downloadable PDF.
Examples of Joe McNally's work are on his web site. McNally has also produced a DVD on wireless multiple strobe lighting in conjunction with Nikon USA, and was the subject of the feature Shooting the D1X for National Geographic on this site in December 2003.
• McNally has reduced the number of workshops being staged, from six to five, owing to a scheduling conflict; we've revised the story accordingly (September 13, 2005)
