CompactFlash Performance Database updated
Tuesday, July 15, 2003 | by Rob Galbraith

Performance data for five new CompactFlash cards has been added to the CompactFlash Performance Database on this site. The latest additions are:

  • Core Micro 1GB. This card appears to be similar or identical to the Transcend 1GB CompactFlash card.

  • SanDisk Ultra 512MB and Ultra 1GB. SanDisk has recently revamped its Ultra line, bringing about a big increase in both write and read speed compared to the original Ultra's. A separate article describes the new Ultra models in greater detail.

  • Lexar Media Pro Series 2GB 40X. The latest in Lexar's 40X lineup.

Also working its way into the database is the Lexar Media Pro Series 4GB 40X. The unit we tested is an engineering sample, though one that should be comparable in performance and compatibility to shipping units. Lexar has not yet announced when this card will begin appearing on store shelves, though the presence of the 4GB sample in-house here suggests that the wait won't be long.
