Canon preparing announcement regarding EOS 5D Mark II "black dots" problem
Friday, December 12, 2008 | by Rob Galbraith
In a brief interview today, Chuck Westfall, Technical Advisor at Canon USA, stated that Canon is preparing an announcement that addresses the EOS 5D Mark II "black dots" problem being widely discussed on Web forums since shortly after the camera's release late last month.

While Westfall is not yet able to divulge precisely what the announcement will say, he characterized it as good news for owners of Canon's newest digital SLR, and that the announcement is expected soon.

Earlier this week, Westfall first tipped the fact that Canon was aware of the problem in a post on The Digital Journalist: "Watch for an official Canon comment on this issue in the very near future."
