Nikon Pro magazine reveals full details of 24.5MP D3X camera
Friday, November 28, 2008 | by Rob Galbraith
The English-language edition of Nikon Pro magazine, a publication of Nikon in Europe, has begun to land in subscribers' mailboxes, and it contains full details of the much-anticipated D3X digital SLR. In a blog posting today, UK-based pro cycling photographer Seb Rogers has published photos of his copy, which he says "dropped on the doormat this morning," and it reveals a 24.5MP full-frame camera capable of 5 fps continuous shooting at full resolution (7 fps when set to capture 10MP DX Format photos), a standard ISO range of 100-1600 (plus an extended range of 50-6400) in a body that's effectively identical to the D3.

While rumours and leaks are an element of almost every new digital SLR introduction these days, this isn't that: with what is probably a premature mailing out of the magazine to readers, Nikon has effectively announced their new flagship camera, and it's safe to say that Rogers' photos of the magazine, and the information it contains, is legitimate.

The article doesn't appear to include when the camera will ship, or its price.

Seb Rogers' blog posting is here (it's also shown in the screenshot below). Photos of the same article, taken by another subscriber, are here.
