Slated to ship in December, Quantum Instruments has announced the Qflash TRIO, a new flash system that melds a FreeXwire-compatible wireless radio with a shoe-mount flash unit that's designed to work with either Canon or Nikon SLR cameras.
The Qflash TRIO system is comprised of the Qflash TRIO QF8 flash, which is available in separate Canon (QF8C) and Nikon (QF8N) versions and offers full TTL compatibility with each, plus the Qflash PILOT QF9, a commander unit. Either the PILOT QF9 or TRIO QF8 can act as a commander at the camera in a remote flash setup, with the PILOT offering the same remote control and configuration features as the TRIO QF8, but no flash head.
More information is in the announcement below. Quantum Instruments will be showing the Qflash TRIO system at the PhotoPlus Expo trade show in New York City from October 23-25, 2008.
