Sigma is poised to ship the 4.5mm F2.8 EX DC HSM, a circular fisheye lens that provides about a 180 degree field of view and is intended for use with smaller-sensor digital SLRs such as the Canon EOS 40D and Nikon D300.
The autofocus lens, which was announced in the fall of 2007, is to be released on January 19, 2008 in Japan and will be available in mounts for Canon, Nikon and Sigma. One online retailer notes a release date of January 31, 2008 in the USA and a street price of about US$900.
