Tony Stromberg's remarkable photographs of horses are featured in
True Spirit. Stromberg prefers early morning and late day light as well as backlighting and some underexposure for a more dramatic effect. These days he's shooting "about 99% digital" and used the Nikon D2H and D200 cameras with an AF Zoom-Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8D ED for most of the photography featured in the story. He uses an AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED lens at times as well. More of his work on equine photography, including his book
Spirit Horses, can be found on
this site.
