Hasselblad has announced the H3D-II, an upgrade to its medium format digital camera system that improves sensor heat dissipation for promised lower image noise and adds a 3.0 inch (diagonal), 230,400-pixel rear LCD, dedicated ISO/WB button, the ability to navigate rear LCD menus using a thumbwheel control in the handgrip and more. A GPS device called the Hasselblad Global Image Locator has also been announced, as an optional accessory for the H3D-II models.

The H3D-II, in 22MP, 31MP and 39MP resolutions, is available now at manufacturer's suggested list prices of US$24,995, US$26,995 and US$33,995, respectively, in the U.S. The company is also nearing completion of Phocus, a new RAW conversion application. It's expected to be released before the end of 2007.
