Canon yesterday updated a section of their Canon Camera Museum website that looks at the technology behind EF-series lenses. Called the Virtual Lens Plant, it includes videos of lens elements being ground and polished, an EF 500mm f/4L IS being assembled, descriptions of Canon lens technologies and interviews with Canon staff involved in lens production.

 

For anyone interested in how lenses are made, this section of the Canon Camera Museum is a must-see, regardless of what brand of camera you own.
