Digital Outback Photo looks at high dynamic range imaging

Digital Outback Photo has published two interesting articles recently on the creation of high dynamic range (HDR) photographs:
The Making of the Alcatraz Photos describes how photographer Uwe Steinmueller shot and blended frames from the filtered-sunlight interior of Alcatraz, the former penetentiary in San Francisco Bay. Unlike so many examples we've seen of bracketed exposures processed together to expand dynamic range, Steinmueller's photo looks natural and is likely a big improvement over a single-exposure rendering (which is not shown).
