The STOCK ARTISTS ALLIANCE (SSA) has published a document it is calling a "Metadata Manifesto" that calls for a coordinated effort among photographers and users/distributors of photography to develop guidelines and practices for the use of metadata in digital images. The organization's particular concern is to ensure clear and durable copyright notification.
A brief introduction to the document is posted on the SSA's web site, and the Manifesto itself, which is a PDF document, is accessed through a popup link at the end of the introductory paragraph.
