PNY has announced new Optima CompactFlash and Secure Digital (SD) cards.

The Optima CompactFlash cards are said to offer sustained read speeds of 12MB/second and sustained write speeds of 10MB/second. They will ship in 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB and 4GB capacities, notes a PNY press release.

The Optima SD cards are said to offer sustained read speeds of 10MB/second and sustained write speeds of 8MB/second. They will ship in 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1GB capacities.

The new line of Optima CF and SD cards are to ship in the second quarter of 2005.
