| Olympus EVOLT E-300 body/lens kit price set at US$999 |

Olympus America has announced that the upcoming 8-megapixel EVOLT E-300 digital SLR will carry an estimated street price, in a kit with a 14-45mm f/3.5-4.5 E-system lens, of U.S. $999.99 in the U.S.
In the same press release, Olympus says that the upcoming 40-150mm f/3.5-4.5 E-system lens will have an estimated U.S. street price of US$279.95.
The press release does not say whether the E-300 will be available without the kit lens or, if so, at what price. The camera is scheduled to ship next month.
