Adobe has released Camera Raw 2.3 for Windows and Mac, an update to the RAW file format plug-in for Photoshop CS.
Officially, the new version adds the Canon Powershot S60, Epson R-D1, Fujifilm FinePix S20 Pro and Nikon Coolpix 5400 to the long list of RAW files the software can convert.
In addition, the Camera Raw plug-in also supports Adobe’s newly-announced Digital Negative (DNG) format.
Under the hood, however, is also initial support for the Canon EOS 20D, though Adobe has yet to sign off on the processing of 20D RAW CR2 photos as being final.
Camera Raw 2.3 is a free download from the Adobe web site for Windows and Mac.
The free Adobe DNG converter for Windows and Mac, also released today, enables the conversion of RAW files compatible with Camera Raw 2.3 to Adobe's DNG format. An Adobe Online account appears to be required to download the Adobe DNG converter.
